September 2017 Reflection

Happy Friday everyone! How was your September? Good, I hope? What about your October? Can you believe we're already in October, and that we're even approaching our first complete week of it...? It's now the sixth of October and the first Friday of the month, which means it's time for yet another monthly reflection, in which I pretty much just ramble on about what happened this month as well as what's to come. Oooo... be excited. (It's okay you do whatever you want to do!) Looking Back Into September The Blog Blargh. Blargh blargh blargh. So, the blog. It didn't do horribly, but things could have been better. (At least it was better than the bookstagram, but I'll get to that in a bit, heh heh...) I had to switch over to my school posting schedule, even though I would have liked to try to keep up two posts a week for at least one more month. But, alas, school is just too much. I mean, I couldn't even handle posting once a week. That's r...

August 2017 Reflection

Can you believe August is already over? I don't know about you, but this month has felt like it never even begun — and yet, somehow, it's over. Wow. But you know what that means, right? You guessed it: another monthly reflection! Basically, my monthly reflections are a way for me to to reflect on what happened for the bookstagram and blog in the past month, allowing me to more easily improve within the next month and giving you guys a wrap-up of what happened. I also write about my goals and plans for the next month, keeping myself on track and giving you all a sneak peek of what's to come! With that, let's begin! (You can look at past monthly reflections here.) Looking Back Into August The Blog Unfortunately, the blog did a bit worse in August by only 4 pageviews, or 1.6 % . So, you could say that the blog did around the same, that pageviews were pretty consistent and that they're fairly steady, which would be a good thing. I also published a post on e...

July 2017 Reflection

Now that July is over, it's time for our monthly reflection! July was both a good and bad month for Reading is Inevitable, when considering both the blog and bookstagram. If you are unfamiliar with my monthly reflections, then you can read my explanation below and/or check out the monthly reflections tag . Basically, these monthly reflections are a way for me to reflect on what we have and have not accomplished for the past month in terms of Reading is Inevitable. I also begin planning for the month ahead, including writing new goals for myself based on what I would like to accomplish. They're a great way for me to continue growing and improving Reading is Inevitable. Looking Back Into July The Blog Unlike last month, where I saw an increase in traffic to the blog (down by 45% because I didn't post much -- oh my!), pageviews actually increased. I'm happy to see that they're improving, having increased by about 77%! (Yay!) I also managed to post every M...

Reading a Letter from 2016 Me

Back in early June of 2016 (June 3rd, 2016, to be exact), I wrote a letter to "future" me on my hopes and dreams for Reading is Inevitable, not only including the blog but also the bookstagram. Now that it's been over a year and "future me" is now "present me", it was time to open up the letter and see how much Reading is Inevitable has grown! To read my letter, read the text below. Dear Julia, How is the blog? I am sure that it is not exactly what you have wanted for the blog at this point. Running a blog is tough! Oh, don’t forget to write that post on what you have learned so far, blah blah blah. Although, if you decided to follow schedule, you should have already written it. If not, you’re late! Anyway, moving on, I suppose I should write down some of my wishes and hopes for the blog at this point. I hope that we have a new design (not too fond of the current one…?), or at least that it’s a bit more colorful or bright. I hope that Emi...

June 2017 Reflection

Even though I didn't really do much of anything for the blog or bookstagram this month, I still decided that I should write a monthly reflection for this month. After all, these reflections are supposed to help me grow and improve the blog and our bookstagram, so why should I skip one just so I could ignore my faults and mistakes? If you didn't already know, I make these monthly reflections to reflect on Reading is Inevitable's progress on the blog and bookstagram and also discuss plans and hopes for the next month. If you would like to see more, be sure to check out the monthly reflections label. Looking Back Into June The Blog Remember how I said that I didn't do well this past month? Well, this is just another warning. So be warned. For June, pageviews dropped to an even lower number than they were in May, decreasing by an unfortunate but expected 45%. I also failed to post at all until the 19th of June.  Bookstagram While we did lose followers ...

April 2017 Reflection

I forgot to say this in my last post, but happy May everyone! Since it's the first Friday of the month, you know what that means: A monthly reflection! (Yayy.) Okay, so maybe that doesn't sound all that exciting. "It's just a way for them to look over their statistics for the month", you might say, and, yes, this is true, but this can also be helpful for you, too! You might be interested in this post because... you want to compare to your own blog or bookstagram to ours you'd like to see how we do it you are honestly interested in how we're doing (thank you ♡) you want to laugh at how much I probably failed my goals (it's okay: let it out) you want to know what's coming up for the blog and bookstagram Whatever the reason may be, I hope you enjoy this post! For those of you who are very confused right now because you don't really know what this post is , allow me to explain. In these posts, I not only reflect on the past month for o...

March 2017 Reflection

Hello everyone! Since March has been over for a bit now, it's time for a monthly reflection! A good amount has happened over the course of one month, and I must say that this March reflection is much different from last year's! (This is the first time I can also compare months, which is exciting.) So, here's the layout for this post: Looking Back Into March The Blog Instagram Goals Comparison - March 2016 vs March 2017 Coming Up in April The Blog Instagram Goals Looking Back Into March The Blog Pageviews increased by about 26% ! Personally, I am glad with that number, as I know that after my period of absence here on the blog, pageviews dropped drastically. While they still haven't reached the numbers they did before, I am still glad to see progress. :) Additionally, I started posting regularly again , which is easier thanks to the new posting schedule . The blog also got a fancy new design ! Overall, it was a good month for the blog. Insta...

2016 Yearly Reflection - In Pictures

Hello, everyone! So, my last post was a 2016 reflection, right? Well, if you didn't notice, it was my reflection, but specifically "the words". Today I have a visual 2016 reflection planned! Basically, I'm going to look back at the year in pictures, rather than mostly statistics and whatever notes I had jotted down over time. These pictures include bookstagram pictures and our collection of blog designs!

2016 Yearly Reflection - The Words

Ahh! The year of 2016 is over! Some might say it's a good thing, because 2016 has been pretty bad. I guess I can agree in some ways, but that doesn't mean that 2016 was completely bad! I mean, it might have had some downs, but let's give it some credit, okay? And let's hope it was alright because this is my first yearly reflection, even though we haven't had this blog or our bookstagram for a full year yet. (Shhh.) What I plan to do in this yearly reflection is very similar to what I do in my monthly reflections. I'm going to look over everything, see what went wrong and what went right, what could use some fixing or tweaking, what needs to go and what needs to come, etcetera etcetera. I will also show you almost everything that I have planned for 2016, which, frankly, isn't a lot. But anyway, let's begin! (This might take a bit.)

October 2016 Reflection

I wasn't exactly sure if I wanted to make an October Reflection for this month. After all, I didn't really do anything this month. It was a "break" or just a little "gap". This past month doesn't count, right? That's where I decided to go ahead and write a reflection. This month wasn't an intentional break month. I didn't make a notice in advance for everyone to know. I didn't even know myself that this was going to happen. But it happened, and, since it's a tradition to do these little monthly reflections, there should be no excuse. Moving on, if you have not been around for our past monthly reflections, I would recommend that you of course look at our past ones (that is, if you're interested in these). I'll also give you a little summary about what we do: In these reflections, I look back on how our blog and bookstagram (Instagram + books) did as well as give a sneak peek into our blog and bookstagram in the coming ...

September 2016 Reflection

It's time for me to do our monthly reflection and I really don't feel like doing it because I am not proud of what I did this past September for our blog and bookstagram. Certain things (which I'll get to in a bit) are doing well, but I just don't feel like I am doing anything. (Explanations will come shortly.) If you are new to our monthly reflections, let me catch you up. In these little reflections, I look back at how the month was for our Instagram and blog, by looking at statistics along with my own thoughts and opinions. I also look ahead and write about what will hopefully happen in the next month, in this case October.

August 2016 Reflection

Since the last day of August was this past Wednesday, that means that we are due for a monthly reflection! If you already know the drill, you can skip the following paragraph and move on, but if you don't know it or want a refresher, then go on a head. In these monthly reflections, I look back on the month for our blog, Reading is Inevitable, and our bookstagram (book + Instagram), @readingisinevitable . I also review the goals I had made the previous month. Then I write about what this month will be like for the blog and Instagram, as well as some goals for the upcoming month. The reason why I do these monthly reflections is so that I can see our growth and progress, and see what's working and what's not working. In these reflections, I make changes according to this. You, as a reader, can also see our growth, and get a sneak peek at what is to come. With that, I hope you enjoy this monthly reflection. I believe that August was a very good month for Reading is Inev...

July 2016 Reflection

Happy August, everyone! As of today, July is now over, and that means that it is time for a monthly reflection! If this is your first time reading one of our monthly reflections, be sure to check out our monthly reflection tag later. I'll also explain to you what we do in our monthly reflections. We have monthly reflections so that we can reflect and look back on how the blog and it's Instagram page did during the month. It helps to give us an idea of what we're doing right, or what we're doing wrong. We also give you guys a look into what's to come in the next month. That being said, let's begin! I really do think that August was a good month for us, so let's hope that this reflection looks good!

June 2016 Reflection

Even though June didn't go as planned for us at Reading is Inevitable, I think that it still was a pretty good month for us. I mean, of course it could be better, but it could have been worse, as well. We still are starting out here and still are trying to grow our audience on our blog and Instagram, and I think that, considering this, we are headed on the right track!

May 2016 Reflection

May was our third month on the blog, that is, if you count half of March as one full month. (Yes, I am aware that May is not officially over. Yet it is over for Reading is Inevitable, for we will be having no other posts on the blog or our Instagram.) We have had a lot of fun in May, and have had our ups and downs. We have also learned some tricks that are helping us, and also seem to be lacking some important skills as well. In this post I will look back at the month of May, and will also reveal some sneak peeks of what's to come in June!

April 2016 Reflection

April has been our second month working on the blog! It was a fun month, and we love sharing some of our favorite books with you.

March 2016 Reflection

Hello everyone! I've seen posts like these on other blogs, and decided to do one on here too! Some people call it a wrap-up for the month, others call it an overview, but here at Reading is Inevitable, we'll call it a reflection. Not only will I reflect on what has happened this March, but I will also give you all a sneak peek of what might come in April! This is a calendar of March that shows events for Reading is Inevitable. Important dates include the 12th (birth of the blog!),  the 14th (first book review), and the 26th (highest number of likes on Instagram at 32 likes). Note: This calendar was last updated on the 30th of March. May be slightly inaccurate.
